All of the life lessons and opportunities to grow as a person are very tough to find in any other type of experience. This to me is what makes B3 so special and what keeps me wanting to come back and grow every year.
B3 has been the best experience of my life and has changed me for the better.
B3 has pushed me far beyond my previous bubble of comfort and has taught me to look for beauty in the small things in life. B3 has shown me what true happiness is in the smiles of the children we work with and has shown me how to be an active member in my community, both at home and abroad.
Most importantly, B3 allows me to play a small part in making a huge difference for others, be it just one family or a whole community. The opportunity to change a family’s life by building a house, stove, or latrine, is truly a once in a lifetime experience (or in this case, four times in a lifetime).
What I really like about B3 is that it isn’t just a charity. We make a difference with our own hands and we gain a new perspective on the world. We learn the difference between a want and a need, a must and a have, and the essentials to be a happy human being.
I love witnessing B3 student volunteers become the best versions of themselves whether it be on the site, among the community or among themselves.
B3 changes lives. Our own lives, the lives of students, and the lives of those we visit in our community and abroad.
