Costa Rica 2025

Tarise: Builders Beyond Borders partnered with AMPIT, a local women’s association, to construct a community center that will serve as a hub for technical training, meetings, and social gatherings. The project supports AMPIT’s efforts to produce and sell pineapple-based products like jams with proceeds funding building upkeep and educational programs. The new center will also support youth activities. Community members are eager to exchange cultures, learn English, and share their language, food, and traditions. This immersive, collaborative experience reflects the spirit of mutual respect and cultural exchange.

Finca 6-11Finca 6-11 is a small community located inland from Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula, known for its rich biodiversity. The area is home to around 72 families who primarily work in agriculture, including plantain, pineapple, palm, and yucca farming. The name “Finca 6-11” dates back to the time when banana plantations were the major landowners in the region, with “Finca” meaning farm, and the numbers referring to specific areas of the plantation. Builders Beyond Borders collaborated with the local community and government to build a much-needed community center situated on the site of a former school. The center will host technical and trade classes, health and environmental education, and serve as a venue for local meetings and events. The famous Costa Rican Spheres, which are believed to be pre-Colombian, are located nearby, adding historical significance to the area. As with other B3 projects, community involvement is key to the success of the Finca 6-11 initiative.
