This is an Inaugural Program; we hope to continue in summers moving forward and is not meant to
“replace” the traditional B3 Program. In fact, we hope you choose to participate in both programs.
We are focusing (as always) on safety. We will follow recommended protocols as we travel from the US
to Guatemala, once we are in our community and work site in Guatemala, and on our return to the US.
This will likely include masks, proper handwashing procedures, and distancing as we can. B3 will be
responsible for ensuring that COVID tests are readily available for our teams as required by the airlines
and US immigration. Our community partners in Guatemala will be following the same protocols as our
teams.
The program is open to all students that are entering 9th grade thru 12th grade, Class of 2020 and
2021 Graduates, as well as Alumni.
The cost for one week is $2500. This covers your share of building materials, transportation,
accommodations, food, excursions, etc.
We require that all participants be vaccinated (including the additional 2 weeks after last dose) to
keep our team and the community where we will be working safe.
There will be 2 meetings (only); a Kick-Off meeting and a meeting right before departure. We invite
parents to both; it is mandatory for parents to attend the final meeting before departure.
● For the July 10-17 week, the Kick-Off meeting will be held June 19 at 1PM at the B3
office and the final meeting will be July 5th at 6:30PM. Both meetings will be held at the
B3 Office
● For the August 7-14 week, the Kick-Off meeting will be held June 19 at 2:30PM and the
final meeting will be August 1st at 1pm at the B3 Office. Both meetings will be at the B3
Office.
There is NO local Community Service Requirement and there will not be a Team Retreat.
Airline Vouchers issued for 2020 March and April teams will not be valid for the travel portion of this
program. It is important for our teams to travel together under the same group contract – we want to
make sure everyone arrives as a team in order that we can keep track of our team and be able to move
the group together upon arrival.
This will be a unique B3 experience with students, alumni and adults from past teams coming together
as one team to work together in Guatemala. There is a spot on the enrollment form that allows everyone
to “request” someone that they would like to travel with. We encourage you to reach out and make sure
that person is traveling the same week. If we should have multiple teams each week, we want to make
sure that you are with “that” person if possible.
Should we not have enough participants for the week selected, we will issue a 100% refund.
Students are invited to use Mighty Cause again this year to build a campaign to raise money for the
program fees. We are requiring the entire $2500 to be paid with the enrollment form. However, if
students raise money through Mighty Cause, we are happy to reimburse for any portion of the $2500
(we would like to limit this to a one time reimbursement. Please plan to make sure supporters know that
there is a July 15th deadline for funds to be collected). We will not have fundraising products available
for the B3+ Summer Program.
Reach out to your teammates and encourage them to join us. Invite friends that may not know anything
about B3 and folks you think might be interested. It is a great way to get involved with B3.
The deadline for enrollment is June 15th. We’ll remind you again but don’t take too long to enroll.
